Profile

Katharina Drechsler is a research fellow at the Chair for Information Systems (Prof. Dr. Stefan Seidel) since February 2023. Previously, she worked as a research assistant at the University of Liechtenstein in Vaduz, Liechtenstein. Katharina received her doctoral degree in Information Systems from the University of Bamberg. She graduated with a master’s degree in Information Systems from the University of Frankfurt and holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Munich. She spent semesters abroad at the University of Warwick in Coventry and Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona.

Katharina’s research focuses on digital innovation and digital transformation. She is especially passionate about exploring the role of employees and managers in championing digital innovation and transformation in companies. Her research is positioned at the intersection of Information Systems, Finance and Innovation Management and combines quantitative, qualitative and design science research methods.

Her work has been published in leading journals, such as the Journal of Information Technology, Information and Management, Communications of the AIS, International Journal of Innovation Management, and international conferences, such as the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) and the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS). She serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for leading journals, such as the European Journal of Information Systems, Journal of Information Technology, MIS Quarterly, Executive, Journal of Product Innovation Management and Electronic Markets. In 2022 Katharina received a best reviewer award at the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS).

 

Current Teaching
